I am by no means any kind of "Hard Rock" guy....but I can't get enough of Red Fang.
Not only do they have great songs, their videos are fantastic...and when was the last time anyone said that?!?!?!

I like Dead sarah only thing missing from that tune is about 90 seconds of a good kick A$$ lead guitar great catchy tune and would be fun to play...

Hey cool! Somebody mentioned Red Fang. There are tons of I guess, so called under ground bands that most guys on this site I bet have never heard of. Red Fang is one of them......how about Fu Manchu or Clutch. I myself play in an original (no vocals) hard rock band called ELECTRIC MAGMA. The band just released their sixth full length album exclusively on vinyl. It was mastered by Scott Reeder (KYUSS). You can check out our stuff anywhere over the internet. So yes........for me hard rock is alive and well......everyday!Cool1

I'll check out your band, since I like all of what you've mentioned (with the exception of Kyuss, and thats only because I'm not a fan of John Garcia's vocals. Lately I've been into Earthless and Golden Void. Same guitarist. QotSA should probably be thanked for getting recognition to a lot of bands, and obviously Dave Grohl is the reason they went from a band that only a few friends and I knew about nearly a household name.
Speaking of Fu Manchu, what do you think of Nebula? I got to see them with The Hellacopters a few years back and it was a superb show!

Cool!!!! Somebody else who gets it. I love being part of this underground exclusive scene cause' it is special, but sometimes it does get lonely. I loved NEBULA.....loved is the operative word. I don't think they exist any longer. After Ruben Romano left (drummer of Fu Manchu, Nebula) it wasn't the same. Their first three or four albums are awesome, but it changed after that. I was in hook line & sinker from Queens' first album, with Alfredo Hernandez on drums....who is a monster player. Some other current, cool heavy rock bands you should check out are........KARMA TO BURN (instrumental three piece from W.Virgina)......DOZER (Sweden)......The Sword (Texas)......Biblical (Toronto).....Yes Sir

I somewhat agree, but there are so many bands I listen to that sound like the old school stuff. I really dig Government Mule also, but I am talking about straight ahead heavy groove, rock. What's wrong with that? Riff crunching is cool, if it's a great riff. Sometimes I don't always want to hear an endless blues style jam full of soloing. Ultimately if I can't prove you wrong with and......if you can't sink your teeth into a band like Queens of the Stone Age, who by the way are PHENOMENAL musicians, a current original band.....there is no point explaining any further. It's just a matter of what drives your musical spirit...Yes Sir
