Pow,..more of a scratch than a dent in my armor !!
Listen up,..Hang on to that floor tom. I know there is someone here that wants it but can`t remember who. It`s not junk. Do you have the pedal attachment for it ? Do you still have the bottom hoop and T-rods ?
Your snare is the 431 model. (I think) Some Swingers came with the 454 which is alot better designed Pro model. I`m stumped though,...
...You have plenty of clearence on the butt end through the snaregate,..but on the throw side,..it is pinching the snare cord against the hoop. That is what`s causeing the bottom retainning blot to bend from the tension pull. I can see the retainning nut doesn`t sit flat against the throw-off base.
The mystery that stumps me is,...How come I don`t see drum head through the cut-out ? You have a tucked head on the bottom and it should be showing through the cut-out if the hoop is down that low.
It`s definately not seated right,...you have abouit 1/4 inch clearence between the bottom hoop and the lug on the throw side,...but then you have about 3/4 to an inch on the butt side. The drum is gonna sound horrible in that configuration !!
Does it have re-rings inside or is it solid, or 6 ply ? Sometimes a simple lug change,( there are Sonor lugs that will fit) can bring a Swinger snare up to mid to pro level. The plastic just gives in too much to maintain tension, plus break often at the incerts.
