1955/56 Slingerlands Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello Forum Family, I would love for these beauties to go to a worthy drummer on this forum to play. I found these in an LA Studio, 3 years ago. I don't need them anymore. 1955/56 era matched Chicago Badge 13" rack, 22" bass and 16" floor tom. 1959 Exact match Chicago Radio King snare with smooth functioning 3 point strainer. Bearing edges excellent with minimal separation. Finish is nearly flawless. Chrome is beautiful and very clean for the age. Shells are in the round, modern heads fit nice. Hoops restored by Mr. Lawton with original inlay and staples. Steve Maxwell vintage repro tom holder, although I still have the original included. Bass drum cymbal stands included , no other stands. All new exact size Protection Racket cases. When I cleaned and restored them, there was no steel wool used. All safe chemicals used. Emperor and Ambassador heads. I'm located in Northern NJ , pick up is preferred. Shipping is possible but since they are so collectable and pristine, I will not nest. I will also not separate. Shoot me your email for more individual close ups. $3,500

Anyone out there think I'm asking too much? Some dude was asking 10K for a similar 60's kit on EBAY this past year. If you are serious, make an offer that's reasonable....

If you get half of what you're asking, you'll be doing good.

I'd say if you get a third of what you're asking you're doing good. Slingys don't get the respect they deserve and economy is kind of poor.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Hi,

That is one beautiful kit, but yes, I think you are asking a bit too much. Even with the bass drum cymbal stand, I dont think you will get much more than $1000-1200 for the kit at an absolute maximum. Unfortunately for sellers, Slingerland drums are really undervalued compared to say Ludwig or Gretsch. Although you will occasionally see kits listed for over $2000 on ebay, the ones that sell typically go for $400-800. Good luck with the sale! Those are really beautiful drums you have there.
