always loved this track..trying to work out if the drum kit is a Slinger WMP or a Ludwig...any thoughts please as would love to finally know??

Hard to tell for sure but looks like Slingerland Radio Kings with the small beavertail lugs.

ahh..thats good to know..thats what i think too but not 100%..any other thoughts?? year 56 ish so not a british kit me thinks??

I'd say so too. There are some clearer images of them in some other films. The tap handle T-rods are pretty evident also.

I watched "My Dixie Darling" and shows better shots of the kit. Looks like Slingerland to me.

Well. It's always possible. They're not B&H ,because B&H had keyed T-rods on the Bass drum until they started making Rogers and then they started using Rogers type T-rods. They're not Premier and they're not John Grey. That would leave Carlton and Beverley as the main candidates. I don't really think they look '50,s Beverley lugs and there are no badges-----not even around the vent on the rack tom. One thing that is evident in one of the other films is ; you can just barely see what looks like a rail mount------very un-British.

Look up Gamblin' Man by Lonnie Donegan and it's clear as day. This one includes a drum solo and very nice close ups. I'm surprised it's not wrapped in sparkles to match their sparkle tux jackets.
