NEW Drumshop in North Shore MASS Last viewed: 4 minutes ago

For all those of you from the Massachusetts area who remember Joe's Drum Shop in Beverly, MA.....you all know that it closed down a couple of years ago after the family of the owner tried to keep it going after Joe's untimely passing about three years ago. Unfortunately, they had other life commitments of their own and really had no time or interest in keeping the shop going. Well, last saturday, Oct 13, a new drum shop opened upin Joe's old location with the blessing from Joe's family (they still own the property the shop is in actually)

Those of you familiar with The Drumshop of Portland Maine should be familiar with the man running the new shop in Beverly, MA. Its called The Drum Shop North Shore. They are going to be a full-line drum shop beaing a dealer of several brands, much like Joe's was. Also, they do have most of Joe's old inventory in stock on consignment for the family, so if you are in the market for a vintage kit, an NOS DW kit, or an RMV kit, contact them and check out what they have.

Here's a link to their Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/TheDrumShopNorthShore

That's great. I'm not up there much but I stopped in there once about 10 years ago and spoke with Joe for a while. Nice guy. Sorry to hear he passed.

Hey that's great news! I'm only 4 towns away! It was upsetting to hear when the store closed. I didn't know it was due to Joe's passing. I just assumed it was another result of Guitar Center moving in. I think I'll take a little drive today.

Thanks for the addres- I'm up in Maine this friday, so I might be able to swing by on the way back.

I'll see about some pics Jumping2 of the 'consignment' stuff for everyone who can't make it up there, and ask if they will ship or not.

I live in Danvers and went to the store quite frequently and came to know the sons a little bit-I had heard the inventory had gotten shipped to western mass and then that deal didnt work out and I heard it was coming back this way. There was quite a lot of inventory in the store prior to its closing and then I heard that wasnt even the stuff they had in storage so there is probably a lot to be had there-will try and check it out this weekend....

I just paid a visit today. The new owner/manager Nate is very nice and ready to go. there was lots of snares and sets. Much of the inventory is not even in the store yet. I saw Slingerlands, Ludwigs, Rogers, Gretsch. As Ludwig-Dude said, NOS DW sets that never sold 10 or so years ago. I even got to try a 50's silver veil Radio King!! But I think the craziest thing I saw was a 30" Sabian Ride!!!! Apparently there's lots of old parts that haven't been sorted through yet. The store is open till 6:30 Monday - Thurs and I forget when it opens in the morning and what the weekend hours are. He'll be throwing an official grand opening in November.
