Goodwill auction killer deal so far on a Gretsch Dixieland snare drum and Two Ludwig Last viewed: 4 hours ago
Good luck it's a really nice looking snare.
Few months ago I was turned on to a Radio King snare auction on GW. I lost the auction and it sold for $361. Last week it showed up on ebay and sold for $370. It needed a few things but was a real sweetie of a drum. Some nice stuff pops up there and people are tuning in to GW more often. Me too! :)
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Someone who bought a snare for $361, & sold it on ebay for $370 wasn't much of a businessman. Also, take note that the smart people at Goodwill have given this Gretsch Dixieland a shipping weight of 35LBS. The regular shipping charges for a large portion of their auctions is a total fraud.

Indeed. When on GW it showed some broken lugs which were replaced by the time it hit EB. So even more of a loss there.

Shipping weight for the Green Ludwig and the other drum is 12 lbs. Something stinks on ice.
How much do you think it should weigh for 2 drums?

I just did the GW estimated shipping calculator from them to me is $39.00 that is what it would really cost for USPS Priority Mail. I just sold a 6 1/2x14" snare drum ebay was going to charge my buyer $42.00 so USPS Priority mail so??
I think the problem is t/ GW, obviously, does not have GW-wide practices. In other words, even though a store in WA is a GW entity & has a certain shipping fee, another GW store in a different city/state will have a vastly different way of going about calculating shipping cost.
I do think that when the shipping is grossly overboard buyers factor that into the cost. However, the sometime fee that's tacked on after auction end (usually 5%) I find very annoying (I don't mind the handling fee though) -
