Slingerland "red" labels

Does anyone know the approximate year that Slingerland switched from the black/gold to the red brand stickers? They used the same photos for a few years running!

Thanks to one of our own (you know who you are!!) I seem to be on the hunt for some 'correct hardware for a '69 BR kit.

Oddly enough, I am not a fan of BR. A wizard? Oh yes. Just doesn't get to me.

But damn those drums are drop dead beautiful and major fun to play!

The Slingerland Shelbyville badges were used ony one year from 65-66.Slingerland didn't switch badges at all. They continued to use the black and gold Niles,Ill. for drums made in that plant. The Shelbyville plant only lasted about a year.

Just an FYI..they are refered to a badges, not stickers.

I believe he is reffering to the stickers applied to hardware.

Yes, I was -- stickers applied to hardware. I don't know what era is indicated by the colors...

Not sure it makes a huge difference, but as long as I'm in the hunt, why not??

I've really looked at the catalogs on the "Vintage Drum Guide." (THANK YOU)

It looks like 74 is about the change...but most of the sets in the catalogs don't show labels.

Dang. I just bought a couple o' cymbal stands for the 69 BR drum set obsession.

On the other hand, the only difference is the label.

That's where the obsession comes in.., "correct" restoration!

Perfect!!

Once they get here and get cleaned and polished, you can put us together, yes?

I know it seems EXTREMELY minor...but that's how it goes!
