That's a cool clip. I grew up watching Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller's sing along (follow the bouncing ball, yes I'm old LOL) and others. Welk's drummer Johnny Klein is a fav of mine. That's not Johnny K in this clip though but dig the vistas. I was glued to the TV screen when he played on the show.

Tonight show band was always top shelf too. Old school buddy of mine's Father was a sax player in the NYC Carson band before the move out west. Johnny himself a very good drummer too. I wish the audio was out there for that clip I'd love to hear it.

Ya know, the drummer w/ Welk in that clip is Paul Humphrey.

He also cut the drum tracks for "Black Cow" on Steely Dan's "Aja" album. Ol' boy can play.
