From jccabinets

Anyone care to guess what is a fair price assuming they are Slingys? 50 too much, not enough?Jeff C

Jeff, I will tell you Go get them. They are Slingerland shells. Why the strainer and muffler is right on the snare. The floor looks right to me the mounts the lugs and screws..I also think that the snare drum could be a one piece maple shell if you look at the photo the inside snare shell looks maple to me..I think 50.00 is to low. With maybe the snare being a one piece maple shell i would have no problem offering 125.00+ for all the shells...Mikey

Jeff,I forgot to say when you are checking out the snare drum the way to tell if the shell is one ply maple is when you look at the edge of the drum you will only see one ply then you will see were the rings are glued to the shell...Also on the strainer butt side should have the same strainer that is on the other side of the drum with out the handle..It looks like the butt side is on the drum....Mikey

Well the good news is the snare shell has some very good condition hardware and nice blue sparkle wrap. Bad news is the re-rings have come loose and the drum is out of round. Me being a wood guy will attempt to glue it back togeathe and save it. Date stamped is may 27th 1959 as far as I can tell.

The floor tom also has nice hardware, lugs and leg mounts. No badge but date stamp of 1964. The wrap on this drum is toast, huge cracks on other side.

The 9x13 shell as you can see has nothing but the wrap and its not great. I will be needing alot of hardware to complete this project not to mention an entire bass drum. But for the price, I had to bring them home.

Ok, here is the rest of the stuff that I got from the same guy. This guy might be a new friend of mine. He says he has a buddy with a barn and knows for sure there is more drums in it. He thinks the rest of the Slingerland kit might be in there! I think its time to go pickin.

That acro is a 1967. The Lyra bongos I know, made by Pearl right! The Apollo drums are what got my attention at first because I bought a red spark Apollo kit a few months ago and the bass drum had a big hole in it. Now I can get a real nice Apollo kit put together.

Good day for me, I needed it after so many problems this summer.

Man nice score Jeff~! You got some real nice drums. Even a new Speed King pedal. The Slingerland snare shell will be a great save. And real nice the clamshell strainer and butt end are both there. Good stuff.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
