Kent snare drum Last viewed: 2 minutes ago

Hi, just got this snare drum, don't know much about Kent, need to clean it all up but really like the duco finish..any idea on the year please or any other information ?.The tin foil badges were white with gold lettering during the 50’s and early 60’s.. is all have found out so far...

Be aware that if you remove the lugs & strainer they are likely to pull some chunks of the Duco off. This finish can be very fragile, & the hardware often sticks to the finish. Inspect it carefully, & decide whether you think it best to clean around, instead of removing the parts. Good luck.

"D" nice little snare you got.The snare is from mid 60's it looks to be in good condition.But the only thing i see wrong or missing on the drum is that the strainer is missing the handle...Mikey

Hey Mikey..hope you ok mate...mid 60's..thought it may have been late 50's mate..you are right-the strainer is missing on the handle..havent seen many kent snares about...are they easy to find in the states??

I have two kent snares, with the same throw problem, I got help from a guy named mouse here in Bflo who specializes in Kent drums. I don't know if he's on this forum. Nice drum.

Yes I am MC, thanks. I own about 100 Kent snares, all the strainers are fine. If you know how it works you will never break the handle, a little lube is a good thing.

Your Kent drum reminds me of my Revere drum made by Kent. I also have a Kent drumset that I rescued last year.
