Just picked up this Ludwig 1920'S NOB snare Last viewed: 8 minutes ago

Just got this snare that a "one timer" posted for sale here. I was a little sceptical at first, but he gave up all his personal info and I paid through PP.

It came out of Canada.

It seems to be an unmolested heavy two piece version.

The calf heads are in good shape.

Here are a couple of shots of the snare as I got it. I plan to clean it up soon.

Anyone seen this type throw where the arm is to the left of the body? I have only seen them on the right. It is as smooth as silk though...

Nice!!

I heard you were looking for one, I just picked one up but from the info I gathered here it is an early 30's!

I am waiting on some new hoop clips before I can play it, it was missing one and seven of them just broke as I was starting to clean them!! I wonder if it was because they were over tightened and sitting on them for thirty years??

I will post pics when it is up and running, it came out like new!! Everybody says that the cape cod cloths are the way to go but I had better success with flitz!

Wow, I would loove to have one of those.

Are this kind of snares nice for a playing situation or more for a collection?

Just I like playing more than collecting! :D
