Anyone know this snare 3.5x14 Last viewed: 7 hours ago
Looks like a modern version of the kind of drum that Wurlitzer used in their orchestra player piano's. There are antique versions of it, but that one looks modern.

Bowing
The OP drum is a Remo "Legato" snare apparatus that is designed for a marching snare. It is capable of super high head tension, & clips onto the top of a shell. This top piece is often found separated from the bottom shell. They were never meant to be played as a "single headed piccolo" , but they do have a great Scottish drum voice.
tdennis is right. It's the top half of a modern marching snare drum.
PS, thanks for sharing my pics Purdie! The similarities really are pretty cool.
Thanks guy's something i did not know..If any of you want to bid on it.The drum is on shopgoodwill the bid is at 5.00......Mikey
