Jamcotte -- please pm your contact info. I picked up a converted 18" bass a couple of of weeks so I am not as motivated to get a bigger bass, but maybe we can work something out.

Thanks!

I still need to cut down the tom arm so the drum doesn't hang so far from the stand and tweak the set up a bit, but here are the updated pictures.

This finish looks so much better in person and in outdoor lighting. The camera flash seems to whiten everything and make it look bland when it really isn't.

Hello all I am a brand new member of the forums. I found your forums because I was searching to see if anyone else out there owned a Pearl CZX series drum set and what do you know! :)

I've been playing since I was 9yrs old and I'm 40 er' something now. ;) I've been in bands pretty much since I got serious about playing after getting my first set at the age of 10.

Anyway, I have these exact Pearl CZX drums, same finish in birds-eye maple. I have a 5-piece set which I bought brand new after seeing William Calhoun of 'Living Color' playing them on a Buddy Rich fest video.

14x6.5 snare, 12 tom, 13tom, 16x16 floor tom, 22x16 bass drum. I will have to check the depth, but they are the deep shells.

I have loved them since the day I got them and have played them while touring with a few bands around the Midwest and have recorded with them many times as well. I always got compliments on them from people who heard them or had the chance to play on them at shows.

I haven't played or been in a band for a few years and recently I was looking at possibly selling the set to someone who might be searching for them.

Well anyway, glad I found this forum and I hope to meeting others on here and learn more as I go.

Here's a quote from a dutch drummer with also a Pearl Custom Z, bought some years ago, i'm very pleased with the sound. My kit is 24x18, 12x10, 13x11 and 16x16. The snare is 8x14, it sounds like a canon.
