Hey, I resemble that remark. I think I was the only vendor there that was under 50. Deffinitely the only one that was under 40 and yes, most of the crowd at this show was older and the crowd was VERY light throughout the entire day. At least one or two vendors were broke down and gone well before 3:00 and I had more people walking around trying to sell to me than looking to buy anything. 4.5 hours to drive in each direction plus feul and tolls and yes, this was an expensive day. There is always the possibility of pulling some future work out of shows and I am hopeful and made a few new contacts but there just wasn't that many people there.

It was nice meeting several of you in person, thanks for stopping by the booth and checking out my stuff. I have some pictures that I will post as well.

For thw record, I was one of the guys with the pony tail but at 39, I am a kid in this game. baby crawl2baby crawl2

I just want to give everybody a heads-up about CT Pro Percussion, this guy produces a line of calf-skin heads that are not only beautiful visually, but the tone on them is to die for. Pure vintage mojo. I messed around on a 13" rack tom that had one of his calf heads on it and it sounded wonderful. Nice deep, rich tone, cuts right when you want it to. Old-school sound. Next time I need real skins, I'll be contacting you! Great competitive prices too. We should support our own members who own or operate drum related businesses. Especially if what they are offering is equal to, or superior to whatever else is out there.

Best of luck. I hope the next time one of our guys is hunting for calf-skin heads that they contact you first. Buy American!

It was nice to meet you...

John

Hello All,

I was at this show with my drummer, and we had a great time. I don't play but I envy and adore those that do. Drums are wonderful to look at, they are so beautiful! Even a box of parts that will complete a project kit, is fun to root through. The best part of going to these shows is the faces, the drummers that discover that part that they need, find the perfect drums, meeting and speaking the language of percussion with other drummers. It is awesome that you all restore, repair and cherish vintage drums, saving parts, putting heart and soul into rebuilds. Gray hair...Ha...You all become little kids when it's about playing.

I loved the cigar ring kit! A true labor of love.

Sales were not good and some of you saw a slow show..I saw much more!

And I saw Tom light up the second he walked in the door, and an ear to ear smile on his face that lasted the entire day! Thank you Joe for that!

See you next time...
