Here's a pic of the new display, and a picture of the rest of the snare bunch...Some space left, lets go shopping...

I like it!! Very classy looking too. I use a quality bookshelf I found at a tag sale for 10 bux. Its much like the one you have shown here just a tad taller w/ adjustable shelves. Can hold up to 25 snares!

I bought another snare yesterday, Yamaha current model, quick sale thing,

I only bought it because it came with a Gator bag that fits my 78' Slingo Krupa 6.5.

Wife just said, with no knowledge of this thread , but (with a little sarcasm thrown in), you'll need a cabinet to store all of this stuff.. I'm now up to 5 snares so... Ikea here I come..

Cheers

Hi, this is my first post on this forum, and first of all I wanted to thank for the Ikea Klingsbo hint :) I bought one yesterday and it works great! All snares fit nicely except the maple Gretsch with maple hoops - so it went on the roof.

I also want to share with you guys another Ikea idea: they have a square chair pad called IRIS that I found just perfect for giving my snares some cushioning, keeping them from rattling (since my cabinet is next to the drumset), and, most importantly, muffling the bottom head and the snares. It has two straps with velcro strips that I fastened under the glass shelf of the Klingsbo:

I bought this in Ikea in Warsaw, Poland, but I can see they sell this chair pad everywhere, here it is in the USA: IKEA IRIS.

PS. No, I don't work for Ikea, just wanted to share something I found useful :)

Rgds,

Has anyone tried putting a pre-1968 Super Sensitive in one of these? I’m guessing the only way it could possibly work is if you place the snare in there diagonally (tuck the snare ends into the corners of the display case). Anyone try this?

I have my 1929 Ludwig BB Super in mine. Fits no problem but the strainer does need to run diagonally from one corner to the other.

Actually it was my wife that suggested putting the display case right by the front door! We've been married for 15 years now and she still never ceases to amaze me!
