Vintage Mod Orange sighting & other things Last viewed: 3 hours ago

After 30 years, I finally had the opportunity to see one of my earliest musical influences, Mission of Burma, play. I was shocked to walk into the club last night and see a '60's Mod Orange kit set up (the iPhone pic doesn't do it justice):

Anyway, it appeared to be in nice condition, and it sounded great. I give MoB's drummer, Peter Prescott, total props for dragging that thing out on the road.

In other news, I took today off because I'm worn out from the show. Here's what I'll be finishing up today:

I see the Pabst neon sign in the background. Is that the real reason you're taking the day off? Just kidding. I've taken time here and there to work on my drums. Your WMPs are very nice, by the way. It would be hard for me to not take the time to get those going. Please post pics when you're done...should be later today, right? ;)

Thanks for the pic of the Mod kit. They look kinda neon red under the lights. I bet they were gorgeous in person. That's one of my many bucket list finishes.

I'm no guru, just a vintage drum junkie!

Wow, those look great. I have the matching Super Classic snare.

BTW, I had tix for that show at the Firebird. Was just getting over something otherwise I'd would have been there.

Gravy, you missed a Hell of a show. MoB were GREAT. They played with lots of energy and they were tight beyond belief.

Yeah I figured they would. I am still surprised they are touring given the singer's hearing issues.
