Original (?) Ludwig Obp Jazzfest Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Just wondering how many of you "hardcore" collectors out there would consider this one an original oyster black pearl Jazz Festival?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960s-Ludwig-RINGO-Jazz-Fest-snare-drum-Original-BLACK-OYSTER-PEARL-1ST-TIME-/180852614880?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item2a1ba7e6e0

Regardless of the responses, somebody's going to end up with a significant amount of money for it (assuming the reserve gets met)!

You would think after all that "waiting for the right drum" they would have picked a correct preserial snare like Ringo's, with the strainer one panel away from the badge.

I love the line- the wrap was done so well even an expert couldnt tell it was a rewrap. Did he pull the shell apart to tuck it in the plys? Thats a ton of money for an imposter.

+1 on this (and also on which panel has the baseball bat muffler control as above).

Given that the wrap was added before the flat plywood was made into a circle anybody who knows a bit about these would know it was a rewrap. You can't help but spot a rewrap under these circumstances. No wonder they disclosed it.

The only question is how much the Ringo effect will apply to the end price.

That listing gets on my nerves so much, I didn't even bother to read the whole thing.

If it's such a great offering, why is he trying to hard to "sell" it?

And why all the Ringo pictures?

Seems geared toward a non-drummer.

If somebody would have told me that they were offered $2,088.00 for a rewrapped Ludwig Jazz Festival, regardless of the wrap, yet their reserve price hadn't been met I would have thought that they had a great sense of humor.
