'68 Ludwig Acrolite 14"×5" 8 lugs

The condition is quite nice. But, I can see one small ding on this batter side hoop, while the hoop is round.

Drumheads/snare wire is like new condition.

Drumhead is Ludwig Weather Master Medium Coated + REMO Amb Hazzy.

Snare wire is Ludwig Heavy Wire 12 Strand

All original other than drumheads & wire.

Asking $200 shipped (48 states)

Nice looking drum, but the throw-off looks to be incorrect. Shouldn't it be a p-83?

That's the 12 hole (earliest form) of the P-85 Blackface, so I wouldn't be worried to see it on an Acro with a knob muffler from about then. But then I don't claim to be a world expert on exactly when things changed around that time.

Thanks, I just assumed that throw was a 70's thing. Always learning.

Thanks Zen,

The p85 strainer/new knob muffler started using circa '68 as long as I remember.

At that time, old or new strainers/muffler coexisted like cob and cos hoops about mid 60's .

If I miss something, pardon me.

No pardon needed Yoshi... that drum is right as rain for the year it was made and you've priced it right.

Best of luck with your sale...

See how far the strainer sticks out from the shell?

Looks like a later strainer main frame.

Maybe with a earlier p-85 cover?

Blair - the snare lever just clears the hoop. Looks okey-dokey to me... it's got that early 'connected L and G' logo. 68' would be right for that one.

Thanks John for your support!

I've thought above things are common for late 60's Luddy.

So, I skipped the description. I'm sorry for that and if I still misunderstand.

Hoops are 1.6mm COS.

Sorry,maybe I jumped the gun.

I had out all my p-85's last nite, and even the earlier ones stick out a bit,and yes,on the earlier ones, the lever just clears the rim.
