I am selling an almost brand new 19" Zildjian K Dark Thin Crash Ride. It's part of the Zildjian Rarities program for 2011. I bought it this past December 28th at Memphis Drum Shop for $305 + tax (and had to drive 2 hours to get there...and gas isn't cheap these days). Violin I don't know what the deal is, I guess their cymbal vault makes cymbals more lively, but after I got it home and played it at a couple different venues, I realized it is too dry for my taste/style of music. It has a nice loud, low-pitched bark, but it decays very quickly. As a ride, it has a defined, yet dry stick definition. It's a great cymbal, but I can't jusitify hanging on to something I won't be able to play. I play in a blues/rock band and in a praise and worship band and it just doesn't blend well with those styles, it's just too dry. It fits well with one jazzy song that my blues/rock band plays and that's just not enough to keep it around for. My wife says if I want any more vintage gear, something has to go to pay for it. So, here's your chance to save about $50-60.

If anyone is interested, I'd like to get $265 shipped. I used to be the shipping guy at a big music store in Jackson, MS, so I'll pack it very well for you.

Preferably, vintage Zildjian thin crashes and a crashable ride. Also looking for a 50s Slingerland snare stand, late 50s Slingerland torpedo Ts in great shape, clam shell strainer and butt with all working parts with no pitting, late 50s 2" (2 3/8" total length) Slingerland tension rods in good shape. Those are the main things I'm looking for right now. Whatcha got? Maybe we can work out a deal.

This was part of the Zildjian Rarities program for 2011. It is my understanding that it will not be offered in 2012. I have made a sound file, but can't figure out how to get it posted here. I recorded it with a friend's new smart-aleck phone and he e-mailed it to me, but it came through as a blank file. If you go to mycymbal.com, you can find a sound file of a few of these. Click on Zildjian on the left of the screen, then click on the Rarities tab and scroll until you find them.

If you like what you hear, you can have this one for a good bit less than they want for a new one. I've only had this one for 2 months.
