Bit much, even for 'mint.' Which it appears to be. But blue sparkle is the single most common finish and mint or not, $3800 is just a bit steep. :2Cents:

Hey Purdie! Exactly what I was thinking! Let's see what others have to say as well.
John, I agree.
I passed on a similar kit in similar condition in Tulsa a little over a year ago. And it was a 65 or 66 with the white interiors, all near mint, all original stands, cymbals, and cases. Originally owned by a dentist and they spent most of their lives in the cases. The only reason I passed was I was unemployed at the time and just couldn't part with his FIRM asking price of $1500 (No, that's NOT a typo!).
Another guy (a member of this forum from Central Kansas) had also contacted him and was making the trip to see them. Turns out the drums were date-stamped on the very day of this guy's birthday, and that where the drums ended up. So even though I couldn't pull-the-trigger on the deal, I was very happy to see them go to someone who would cherish them forever!
Bill
BTW, for comparison, check this one out:
I agree this is a lot of dough but man, are those beautiful. Great to see something so well cared for. I personally wouldn't pay anything near that but it's free to look!
Exactly!
Hey, it's a free market. If the seller wants to try to sell his kit for $3400, let him try. If it actually SELLS, though...
i just think the market is so down that even rare ones are not worth a wooden nick i really think im done with buying as the prices are out of site and not worth a dang

On the contrary, I think that NOW is the time to buy! Steals of deals used to come by twice, maybe three times a year, and now they're everywhere. There's nothing like helping out people who need the money, and getting a super-nice piece of gear in the process.
...with that said, I also think that now, more than ever, is the worst time to haggle people down...

Yup... My thoughts exactly.
