Identify Radar's drums? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I always wondered what kind of drums Radar used. I know that's a 5x14 Supraphonic, which is completely period IN-correct for Korean War era (how did they get that one past the censors!). But what about the rest of the kit? I can't make out the lugs, and that is some wild "tangerine ripple" type of finish that screams early '70s. MIJ? MIK? Should this unauthentic stage management ruin my overall M*A*S*H* experience-- with it's acclaimed acting, deep characters, and ensemble cast? Well, Radar does have some chops (even though he alsmost duffs it at 0:35).[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AN7r4GjjVw[/ame]

Gary spent time as a Slingerland endorser. Just putting it out there.

From pjn1375

(even though he alsmost duffs it at 0:35).

Gary lost a finger on his left hand. If you look closely, you'll see he's got a tentative hold on that left stick at best. There is only one meat-hook (instead of two,) over the stick. Makes for big time control problems at higher tempos I'm sure. I have a lot of respect for guys that can play on Gary's level with a physical handicap. Example: Rick Allen/Def Lepard.

Considering his obstacles, Gary played his ass off!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I was thinking it looked like this one. The tom mount is different but the lugs and finish could be right
