HI All!
I've got a single ply Maple Kent Snare that am having a hard time getting info on. The shell is like 5/32's & single ply Maple with no re-rings...and please don't tell me it's a ply shell (I've heard way too much from the cheap seats about this), I build drums & currently have more than 30 single-ply/solid shells in my shop.
Thanks in advance, not being an a$$, just tired of instant experts telling me stuff I knew 30 years ago & trying to play "hide the salami" with me. LOL!
it was my understanding they were one continuous ply that wrapped around twice to appear to be a 2 ply shell. is this what you meant?

Yes i have also have seen them.Is your snare a 13" or 14" head?.The ones i have seen have a single lug in the center with hooks on the rims..Maybe called a student model? or something like that..Mikey

Fungus amungus.You are not crazy.Kent did make a single ply snare drum...I still see them on C/L from time to time for about 25.00...Mikey

Yeah, I got this a couple years ago & paid more for shipping then I did for the drum. Got it down to take pics for the sale & looked at it good for the first time, actually a very well built little drum! Thanks for your input & info!...I love this site!
