I've listened a lot to the Stones lately. So...what's up with old Charlie? What's the deal with him skipping the 3 on the Hi-Hat. It looks so wrong and sounds so right! I can't get over how cool he looks behind his old Gretsch kit on those gigantic stages. AND, on top of that he uses a flat ride and chinas for crashes...I have a hunch that if you asked him about the sizes of his drums he'd just shake his head! It's only Rock N' Roll but I really like it!
Charlie Watts
he is one of them guys who is like a human metronome but if he did a roll around the kit and a couple of cymbal crashes they would probably fine him great at what he does but a bit boring for me... may be why i do not own one stones cd or lp
Mr Watts, is actually a very large Vintage drum collector and Guitars, He could easly tell you about both of the gretsch kits. I am a HUGE Stones fan, and Mr. Watts is the king of no flash drumming, he can lay a groove So thick enough you can drive planet earth through it!! HonkyTonk> Women oh that is so freak'n bad to the bone. I have most of their albums, The Stones are one of those Bands you love or hate. Read The Life Of Kieth Richards, and see how Kieth feels about Charlie Watts. Kieth, Mick and Charlie are the Stones, That is what Kieth stated in the book.
I read it. Currently reading Ronnie Wood's book which is equally entertaining. Hoping they'll do something for the 50th anniversary!!! Keep fingers crossed!

The kit they use on the "B" stage came from me!
That is very cool, thanks for sharing! Charlie's coolness factor just went up!
Check out the Howlin' Wolf London Sessions, you can hear him play something a little different than usual. Along with Clapton, Winwood, Ron Wood along with others. Hell of a back up band.
Yep. Charlie Watts is one of the coolest ever. I think that years ago, he realized that sometimes less is better. When he plays with his jazz band, it is another situation. He can roll around his kit with the best of 'em!
