Zildjian 60's ? STAMP ID help Last viewed: 14 hours ago

Yes I know there's a cymbal section. However, I need some answers to sooner than later.

14" hats: 834/874 grams; 16 crash: 1296 grams ; 18 3/16" ride w/ rivets: 1652 grams.

All are in top vintage condition. Hat & crash logos measure 1 3/16". Ride = 1 7/16". I'm not sure this is a 60's or what.

I have a buyer for a Yamaha kit & he's looking for cymbals. Basically, I'm looking for stamp ID's; but also do not want to sell these for less than they're worth, essentially since were already nearing 2k.

2 pics to follow ... 1st = hats & crash; 2nd ride

Thank you Mr.Lud.

Thing that's throwing me is the 2nd stamp. I am not posting these on ebay, but am selling them locally, potentially w/ a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute.

I'd like to know what they are valued at essentially since I do not want to give them away for free.

That second stamp is a late 50's stamp. It is a larger stamp than the ones from the 60's. I have one on a ride cymbal from then, and it came with a 1958 Slingerland Radio King kit that I used to have, that was definitely from that date based on its badge. There is a cool site with Zildjian cymbal stamps and a timeline, which is on a Dutch website called Hidehitters. I don't think they have a pic of that particular stamp, but I think it is mentioned. There is the trans stamp from the 40's with deeper stamping on the Z and Co. of the stamp, then the hollow block stamp from the 50's, then the large block stamp I mentioned, then the 60's stamp with the 3 dots in the arabic writing, like your first pic. Hope this helps.

Are you sure about a 50's? I think its older but it has them 3 dots like the other ones there just very faint.

I stand corrected if I am wrong I just ask though because I thought the 50's don't have the 3 dots. Only the 60's and 70's.

The large block stamps from the 50's have the 3 dots also, just fainter.

Check out the Hide Hitters site. It has the best zildjian stamp timeline around. It doesn't have an example of this stamp, but it does have 50's large block stamps shown, only they have the hollow block letters on the Zildjian and Co.

I think the telltale indicator is the overall size of the stamp. As far as I know, none of the 60's stamps were that size.

That's the site.

I see the 50's stamps but still nothing with 3 dots that look like his. The big stamp of the 50's has the 3 dots but it doesn't look the same. His Zildjian is hollowed out and these are more of a outline....

If it is not hollowed out then yes its a 50's big stamp. It looks like it is though to me.
