Just grabbed!L and L Deluxe, and a Leedy Black Elite! Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

A neighbor 2 doors down had them, and I tried to get them for a full month this summer...

Seemed like he was playing a game,so I finally gave up.........

I saw him today as he was moving out,and he asked me if I still wanted the drums!

Of course,I said yes,but I asked to see them,to make sure he wasn't playing again.

He showed me,I went home,wrote a check,and now I have them!

Both drums are missing front and back strainers, but I think I have the butts at least for both. I have a partial CHROME p-80 throw for the L and L,but need a complete one for the Leedy......

The L and L Deluxe (AKA Black Beauty) has 3 extra holes for a muffler, and 2 very small holes by the original strainer holes.

I took Before pics, and I am going to send to Kevins on here to post for me.....

If anyone has any parts I need.......PLEASE let me know! THANKS!

Stay tuned!

Blair

It looks like your neighbor got tired of looking at that gawd aweful engraving and thought he'd make them more pleasing to the eye with some beautiful turquoise paint! Yikes!

Thanks!

I almost didn't go over to his house today, but he had a Meazzi Hollywood muffler I left with him for a friend of his to fix,and I saw he was moving out ,so if I didn't go soon.......bye,bye muffler!

Lucky I went there!

I have the parts off already, and I am using some Soy Gel stripper to get the paint off.......

I think the turquoise was done in the 50's.......that was a popular color then, and the (lead) paint looks OLD.

Cindy, my kitty cat, was sitting so cute inside the Black Beauty, but when I grabbed my camera, she decided to exit!

........................................................................................................

My Arts and Crafts home's 1920's basement had the coal room painted turquoise!

.......................................................................................................

Also,I stripped some of the paint off some wallpaper upstairs to see what it was like when new,and I found a coat of PINK paint under the white paint.

That must have looked nice with the old growth oak crown mouldings! GAK!

Yeah, couldn't believe it when I first saw them........

They told me they had a cat,and to look thru a window to see it.....

So,I look,and see a big BD....I said.."Oh,you have drums!"....they said..."we have more of them then that!"

I about crapped when I saw a Leedy Blk Elite and Blk Beauty!Eye BallCool1

The BD was a 10 by 27" L and L drum circa 1920's,painted turqouise,like the other 2 drums........

Used the BD for the badge/clip on spurs and 1920's Ludwig Foot Machine.

Gave the shell to a friend......

There WAS a cool sticker inside it though.......

I'll see if Kevins would be so cool as to post a pic of it for ya all......
