Options for this very rough Supra Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I sand blasted my 66' myself (took way longer than I expected, that chrome is really on there where is isn't flaking off ;) ) and then finished it with a couple good coats of rustoleum, followed with a coat of wax. Not really a vintage finish, but it has held up nicely, is easily removable, and looks the part. Oh and cheap too! I think i've got about $100 total in it. And it's now my main go to!

Thanks for all the great replies - anybody have any idea what it may cost to have it stripped and/or powder coated?

Thanks

I have never cleaned a cymbal so this makes some sense. I recently picked up a 20 inch 70s crash ride that sounds simply amazing. However, it looks as if it was soaked in vomit, then wiped off on the grass. No way I will ever clean it. How would you go about replacing all that vintage mojo?

I cleaned an old avedis ride and I can honestly say it sounded better dirty.

now the real question is how would you put back on 40 plus years of sunlight, dander, spit, sweat, smoke, beer, and maybe vomit ?

Take the shell and lugs to a plater. Strip, polish, clear-coat. Simple and a cheap way to get a new drum out of the deal that will never pit again. I used COB tube lugs on mine.
