once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

same 3 ply shells as the classics. if its the wood snare, same as a jazz festival. some even came with classic lugs as opposed to the standard lugs. great drums at a discounted price, kinda like club dates.

Agreed! Great drums. I actually like the Standard strata finishes more than most of the classic finishes.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

A kit in super duper condition with original hardware may bring that. A fixer upper, depending on the wrap, half to two thirds that.

Your mileage may vary...

Did you have some pictures?

While it may seem a bit overpriced, the accessories make the difference. And, they are great drums! And, they are not much overpriced if the condition is good... especially with the right cymbals.
