Greetings everyone.. just wanted to let you know that Chicago Drum Exchange has been open for several months now and we are starting to feel good about our vintage inventory, which is quickly growing.. I know several of you on the forum, and look forward to talking and dealing more with you. We're always on the lookout for used/vintage kits, snares, and cymbals, so keep us in mind if you're looking to trade or sell. I look forward to making some new connections and continuously learning more about vintage drums from everyone here on the forum.

Cheers,

Ryan Quilty

Good luck with you new ventures. If you ever need some assistance in Southern California, don't hesitate to ask.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

We've taken in a few things pretty recently, so they may not have been here when you were in. Here's what we've got at the moment, with a couple more kits likely on the way very soon:

mid to late 60's Slingerland purple sparkle 12/14/20 (with extra matching 70's 14x10 tom included).. beautiful shape, all original, no issues

'64 Ludwig club date 12/14/20/5x14 snare in galaxy pearl (black galaxy sparkle)... near mint condition, all original, no issues, includes original key for rail mount and original bass drum mounted cymbal arm

late '40s Slingerland Radio King 4.5x14 snare in white marine Pearl.. good shape, some minor pitting on lugs, working throw off

1963 Ludwig supraphonic 5.5x14 aluminum snare.. beautiful shape, no pitting or rust

1966 Ludwig jazz festival 5.5x14 black diamond snare drum, 3ply w/ white interior

70's Paiste Sound Creation 20" Medium Ride

Hey Ryan!

I had no idea this was you. The very best of luck with your new business. I wish you all the success in the world. If you're hunting for inventory; check out my ad in the For Sale section; 59' Ludwig Transition Badge Club Dates (Rare sizes, I think you know the kit.)

All: Ryan is one great guy and someone you can deal with in complete confidence. Highly recommended seller.

Good to see you here! Post up some pix of the inventory when you get a chance. I'd love to eyeball some of the kits you mentioned.

Regards,

John

Too many great drums to list here!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
