very way cool!
: )~
Plus One Here!...BUT, anyone out there remember trying to stay on one of these things????...I DO!...I'm 5' 6.21875"'s tall & these SOB's were like trying to play sitting on Wilt Chamberlains' knee...and they rocked, (no, not the "Rock-On Dude Rock) talking back & forth. Saw a guy knock himself out on the wall behind the stage when he flipped off the back of one! LOL! I love Vintage Gear but some of us forget from time to time how big of a pain in the A$$ some of this stuff was! As a drum stool, it made a great hardware case. HA!
That goes 4 ME 2
You know, for a loneg time I thought WMP was a little 'outdated' for a drum finish playing music today (on newer drms, that is).Bot the more I see this finish on VDF its growing on me.In fact Im about ready to place an order for my new DW kit,and I just may have it made in WMP. Thanks for sharing the pics, its a beautiful kit.
Redneck..... I know whatya mean. But I'll tell ya, Blue Marine Pearl, like Buddy had in 1973 (see 1973 Slingy Catalog) is friggin' BEAUTIFUL!!
Hey Retro, funny U should mention this. I just got a 1973 Slingerland catalog I won on EvilBay.I'll have to give it a glance

Just got through browsing through that 1973 Slingerland catalog looking at the Buddy Rich kit on p.3.....THAT IS NICE.DW has a Finish Ply called 'classic marine' that looks very much like Slingerland's 'marine pearl'. Gonna head down to Explorers Percussion. They have DW color swatches I can look at.PM 2 follow.
What a sweet configuration of drums. Glad to see your back in the game and hope good things continue for you. I am thinking of getting a 26" kick. How is that to play?
Wow! Those are really sweet and bet they sound great. Lucky man and congrats on the score. Bet that 26" is a real thumper too!! Enjoy!
It is funny really i played 3 up 2 down for over 40 years and always 14x20 bass drums by rogers then i got a Ludwig thermo gloss maple to cut down on size lol well then i got sick and kinda panicked and sold everything well now i just happened to find this set and really it is perfect for me i like 2 16's better than a 16 and a 18 as they are easier to get around on for me Ideally i would love to have a 14x16 14 head size by 16 deep they are real thumpers... now 14x26 kicks I love them and i love the boom...i do not like my tom on a snare stand i like a rail consolette or a rogers mountand the 9x13 works great with a 26 inch kick I can make a 10x14 work but it is pushing it ...the canister throne will be for lookin at cause i will never give up my rocnsoc with backrest lol now I am gonna get a full set of 2002 red label cymbals just because i have never had them before .. not sure about the snare i will play it awhile and see if not it will be another supra 402 man i miss my old one .....thanks for all the well wishes and compliments on the set no vintage but i hope to play it till it is I already am... :)
