Great looking drums. Purdie. Good to see you in here. Are you thinking about completing the drum set by installing a vintage correct tom mount? Mr. Way made many drum sets with a rail consolette. That is what I would use if the drums were mine.

Man, it really feels like 'old home week' around here! leedy my man! (and Mike and Buzz,) It's great to see -all- you guys here. I told, Mark privately, but I want you all to know, I consider you all my friends, more than just casual Internet acquaintances. I was cut off from my friends and support network at the very worst time possible... when I needed you all the most. I can't tell you how it warms my heart and soothes my soul, to find you all again here.

To respond to your comment: When I got the bass drum shell, along with all the original hardware, it turns out that the original owner had installed a Rogers swivo mount on the bass drum (and the rack tom) way back in 1959. Because the alteration was performed when the drum was new, I considered it/treated it, like it was an original part of the drum. My 'work-around' in order to make the drums match, was to add 60's Rogers swivo mounts on all the drums. The floor toms have Rogers swivo mounts and legs, and the rack tom has a swivo mount attached. It actually looks really cool and more importantly, because it is Rogers hardware... it WORKS!

That's why I left it as it was and in fact, it inspired me to carry it through as a theme on all the drums. The matching 60's Rogers stuff really helps to tie the kit together with a unique look of its own. I just love everything about them. Thy way they look, the way they play, and the way they sound.

Again, great to find you all here!

Steve & Steve - It's great to hear from you guys! I'm liking the forum, much smaller but more focused on drums. With all my buds here, it just doesn't get much better than that.

Steve (Dolfan) I got another compliment on the bass drum logo you gave me. It's such a cool design and drummers that see it get a kick out of it. What do you think of how the 15" came out? The kit sounds like drums are supposed to. I'm a believer now.

Great to reconnect with all of you.

Hard to really see the 15" tom but from what I see it looks like a cool set up. My 22/12/16 green sparkle GWs, my 20/12/14 burgundy sparkle Oaklawns and my 24/14/18 walnut lacquer Chanutes are my three favorite kits. Camco and George Way, it doesn't get any better than that!

Steve - here are a couple of shots of the floor toms. Sorry about lighting, it's in my basement and believe it or not, using the flash makes them harder to see instead of easier. Also, this forum only allows small graphics. If I could post larger sized pictures, they'd be easier to see. I included a shot of the 60's Rogers leg mounts that I used on the floor toms.

amazing! love it!

All the 'honey' is in the tone of these drums. I was impressed with the bearing edges when I first saw them. There's a 45 degree inside cut, but the round-over to the outside of the shell is the largest I've eve seen. I am convinced it is the combination of the Jasper maple shells along with these 'FAT' bearing edges that contribute to the very warm, (feel in your chest) deep, rich tone that they produce. No BS, I'm in drummer Heaven every time I sit down to play them. The sound of the toms alone can send chills up my spine. Fun to play. D' Drummer
