I am just too computer illiterate to even get a pic up on this forum. I know it's 'cos I have a mac, and pic resizing programmes just don't work on my computer.Anyways- I am having trouble getting foam to stick to my walls. I was buying a mattress topper per week to reduce noise in my drum room. I have one piece falling down after repeated tacking...Suggestions?
Three ideas come to mind on this:
Use those nails that they use to put housewrap on houses. They are pretty thin nails, like 6 0r 8 penny, with a big green plastic washer on each nail. This wouldn't be the most attractive way to go, but they would hold up egg crate material, no sweat.

My other idea would be to cut a bunch of 1" strips off of luan and use these to drive a nail through the strip, through the foam, and into a stud. The studs are probably every 16" in your house, this is typical if you didn't already know. This is what people used to do when they put plastic over their windows in these cold Pittsburgh winters. If you wanted a finished, refined look, then you could even use a decorative piece of trim or a nicely finished sheeting board.
Lastly, you could make your own carpet strip type things that would have bigger nails coming through, facing the room. You could then "hang" the egg crate off of these. After further review, I probably would go with one of the first two ideas as this would lend itself to someone being possible impaled given the right circumstances.....DOH
