San Diego Custom & Classic Drum Show, after thoughts... Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Thought I would share my experience about the show. It was very small compared to Hollywood and Chicago, but I saw a lot of heart there. The venue was the local Union Hall and the atmosphere there was great. Kudos to John who organized it, the had a hourly raffle (I won a cymbal and a few shirts), food on site and a nice, if small collection of kits and vendors. Most of all was the people that came around and just chatted.

I had my Slingy Jet kit set up and let anyone who wanted to play it, and she got a good workout. My buddy Chad, sold and introduced many to The Drum Wallet.

I will look forward to the next one, and bring a lot more things to sell. Small things....

Got to chat with fellow forumite, gwm and talk drums. You know him, the guy who got the Jazzette for a steal recently. He also got to see and play Ludwig's competition, my Jet. I think he was smiling as he played it......;)

Great meeting you, too, BBK. And you're right. That was a big smile on my face while playing your Jet set. Super cool kit and very unique. Thanks for the test drive and don't sell it!

The show was small but a lot of fun and a lot of good energy from guys who obviously love the vintage stuff. And it benefitted school music programs that have been ravaged, so it was all for a good cause. Hopefully it'll grow with the years.
