What brand rail mount is on the BD? Ludwig also,I would bet.

I have no idea. I took close-up pics of the mount and interior. The bolts look a bit long to be original. What is it?

Just as I thought....:-)

"L" arm and the part with holes that holds that is Ludwig.......

Lucky they didn't drill a 4 hole Ludwig rail on there...........

You just need a Gretsch Diamond plate now,and the rest of the Grestch rail to complete.

Oops......MAYBE the part with holes is Gretsch........the Luddy part usually says "Ludwig" on it.......

so,you just need a Gretsch "L" piece and a Diamond plate........

Would appreciate some thoughts on the color. As you can see, the floor tom is near original color, but the rack tom and bass are very different (amber colored). Since the floor tom soft case is also different, I'm wondering if the FT was replaced at some point, or re-wrapped. I don't suppose it's possible that the dark brown soft cases caused the tom and bass to turn this amber color over time? The color is uniform all the way around each drum. I removed one lug from the bass drum and see the most amazing color underneath. I'd really like the drums to sparkle like that again. Does anyone even make this wrap?

Thanks

jim

Wow. That's a stunning find. Congrats!

Regarding the wrap: my advice would be to clean it up as best you can and enjoy it as-is. That's a rare and desirable finish, and it would be a shame to re-wrap the kit.

To my knowledge, no one makes this wrap anymore. I suppose you could have it custom-matched using drummaker.com's ColorWraps, but again, you've got a rare specimen and it would be a shame to tamper with it. As for the mismatched wrap on the floor tom: it just adds character! :)

1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

Update- I sold some of the unwanted items and recouped over half of my purchase price. Sweetest deal ever!
