Yes I do! Auto. pilot simply use less water and more powder and three or four coats will make a nice rich deep green, however the darker the color the less the wood grain stands out, and it starts looking more like a paint job than a stain job. What you see in my pictures is only two coats. Just remember to make way more than you will actually use so you can match another add on drum at a later date. Don't store it in your garage if it could freeze in winter. Also, I don't use steel wool to sand with, Kevin, because the extremely small fibers react to various chemicals and tannins in the wood and turn black as they oxidize, I get better results with 600 grit emory cloth either wet or dry, and a new beeswax cheese cloth rag to remove dust before staining. I apply with a foam brush, work fast, and don't go back over your work till your ready for a complete 2nd coat. And for goodness sake, throw the cat and the dog out of the room before you start. And oh yea, don't work outside under a tree. It's the little things that matter sometimes.
Really nice work everyone...........inspiring
