Not starting anything ... just wanna know who's unethical business wise, as we buy and sell between both forums. Could you post or PM the name of the individual please.
Does a Bronze HH Ludwig depreciate? Last viewed: 1 minute ago
Thanks for the example Jaghog. It`s sold, pending pickup. I was just PO`d that someone on the DFO site had the gall to say I was taking advantage of people by listing it for $420. Then that person claimed they could go to any GC or SamAsh and get it new for that price. Whatever. I`ll have some cash soon and keep my Coliseum. No way in Hades was I gonna sell it for $200 to her/him/it (whatever you call a transgendered person).
I think even guys who belong to drum forums aren't necessarily the most educated about drums themselves. The drum I think he may have been eluding to is the Ludwig LM 305 which does retail under 200.That drum however is an import bronze drum with 8 classic lugs, not a supra 10 lug hammered drum.So don't let the lowballers mess with your head, its just the price of doing business these days. And just an FYI,all of the hammered shell drums are NOT hand hammered, but hammered by machine.

There's no reason to get angry over a person offering a lowball offer. The way I "deal" with someone like that is to give them as much attention as they deserve: None.
Well ... the deal is ... if you don't know that the potential buyer of what you're selling is an unethical mook, then you don't know. But, if you stay informed then you make more informed business deals.
As it turns out, this particular mook has a VERY checkered reputation within this group and another for drum deals. So, it really does pay to ask.

Hmmmmmm.... lemme guess.....

Ok..Maybe not so much then.Is there any way of letting the rest of us know about this guy?I mean like I said before, all I ever want is an honest transaction,so if this guy is burning people, maybe we shouls all know who it is.

Hey guys, here`s the update.
First off, I did sell the bronze snare in question last night to a cool dude here in Atlanta who has quite the collection. Was cool right off the bat, didn`t haggle, just shook my hand, inspected the drum and handed me an envelop with $420.
Second, thanks for informing me about not all hammered bronze snares being hand-hammered, I was unaware.
Third, the guy in question, hoppy2 or johnnyringo depending on whether you`re on this or DFO.
I wasn`t gonna post his ID until I read he had a shaky rep and then I logged on this morning to find a PM from him stating that he bought one for $300 and it`s only 5 yrs old. YEA RIGHT
Even is what he said is true, which I doubt, he showed his true immature colors by his 'oh yea, I`ll show him' type remark. Whatever. I`ve put him on the ignore list on both sites so as not to deal with his tranny arse.
The part that upset me most was that he was on this site claiming how my bronze snare (bought new in 1990) in pristine condition was only worth $200 because it had depreciated like a car`s value and that he could get a new one which is much better (because it`s new) for $400.
Yea, we all know how newer drums are so much better than older drums right?
Geez, what a D-bag.

Thanks for the info my friend.I took a look at a few online deals for Ludwig metal snare drums and the hammered bronze supra is actually a few bucks more than an Black Beauty.I did see a hammered bronze supra on ebay a couple of months ago go for around 300,but the drum was incomplete.

No problem dude. Everyone should be wary of him/her, buying or selling.
