What do you members think about this kit?

The seller was asking $750. I asked if the rims and lugs were still with the set. They replied and said they were not, so they dropped the asking price to $600. Sizes 20/12/14. All drums white interior and stamped 1967. Would this be worth the $$$ ?? I hope to go see these in person later tonite or tomorrow.

IF the bottom bearing edges aren't beat to sh*t, I'd say that it's a fairly good deal. That's a big IF, though.

The bearing edges are one of my concerns. I remember taking mine off my kit when I didn't know better and those edges really took a beating. Not to mention I lost the rims too. What was I thinking ?

Anyway, any ballpark est. on replacing the missing rims, lugs and tension rods?

Ah, nevermind, I just got an e-mail saying they're already sold. Thanks

If condition is good--no extra holes, scuffs, pitting, etc--I'd say that's a great price. These are the most desired sizes, & a popular wrap. I'd go for it in a minute...marko

Lugs..........

T-rods..........

Rims..........

These are recently completed auctions on eBay.

You might get better deals directly from the good folks around here.

Looks like you might be able to do it for less than the $150 reduction.

Good luck !!

I got quite a laugh when I saw these the other day because I was the one who bought them.

Bearing edges were OK, shells in round.

Had to replace:

Bass reso lugs, claws, t-rods (vintage) and (new) front hoop/insert.

Front hoop was metal and lugs, claws and t-rods were brand X.

Floor tom lugs, reso rim and tension rods (all vintage).

Rack tom lugs, reso rim and tension rods (all vintage).

Cymbal L-rod and mount (vintage).

Rubber feet for floor tom.

All heads (toms: Remo Ambassador coated/clear. Bass: Remo Powerstroke batter, Ludwig logo resonant).

This was a one-owner set that had not been used since the '70s,

fade is minimal, all shells have date stamps and existing chrome has very

little pitting. Resacoat interiors are very nice and Bbat mufflers are like new.

Best of all, the seller accepted my offer of $400. I invested an additional

$325 in everything mentioned above and a lot of hours disassembling and cleaning.

These tune up like a dream and sound fantastic.

Kit is shown with a Jazzfest that I already owned.

Cheers.

Dang, those were supposed to be mine !!

I remember emailing her early that morning and saying I'd like to see them after work (around 5:30) and asking about the missing rims, etc. I go to work, get home about 5 and notice she had replied and reduced the price because of the missing items and asks if I was still interested. I email her back saying yes, still interested. She replies the kit is already sold, because "she didn't hear back from me."

I work construction and don't have internet at work. Guess I'm gonna have to get email on my cell crying2-07

You did a fantastic job on those, they look great. Glad they went to member here.

man I wish I could find those 12" and 14" toms you have. They are the sizes I want to add to my down beat kit which is 13,16,20.
