OK, I have a chance to buy this wmp Gretsch round badge kit, sounds like a no brainer, right? But, hold on, it's not all Gretsch or original. Here's the scoop, the 8x12 tom was a 10x12 cut down professionally, the 14x22 was rewrapped and the 14x14 is a maple shell wrapped in vintage wmp and has Gretsch hardware, all drums have the round badge. The 12 has the original wrap and is a bit whiter than the 14 and 22 that were rewrapped. Does this sound like a good deal for $350? Thanks.x-mas3

No snare drum?Even so.its a decent price for a secondary kit but im sure you,ll never even think of it as Gretsch,right?..If your buying it to flip, the money is in the badges, unless they,re copies and not original.
Is this a trick question:D
I'm a little (a lot maybe) less concerned about if a drum was rewrapped, cut down etc. than most maybe. In time that might change.....I'm new at this vintage stuff. So......I think this is a hellava good deal. One thing I do know is that the badges alone are probably worth close to that........so you'd be getting the very nice Gretsch drums free basically. They're all maple shells anyway right?
Johnnyr....I know you're way ahead of me on this already. Ya - it's a good deal.
And - Merry Chirstmas to you too!

Yes, let me clauify, the 12 and 22 are both vintage Gretsch drums. The 14 is probably a keller shell with Gretsch hardware, although the owner is not sure and all have the Gretsch round badge.x-mas3
If you want it for a player, I'd grab it quick, before it gets away. You can always watch for a floor tom, if you don't like that one. I'm a big fan of working man's sets. I like to take them out and use them. Here's my RB rewrapped set....If you want it to flip, you probably could still make money on it, but how much is questionable.
Agreed....a great price if youre going to play them..........not a great price if you want to flip them. Folks who collect Gretsch drums want them in original conditon....even re-wrapping is a sin here.
But for 350 grab e'm!!
I agree with the board..terrible if you want to flip the kit. No money there. It seems this kit would be ideal for jam nights, practice, and quick tear up/tear down shows.
