Hi Everyone,

I am thinking of getting a vintage Rogers kit, but I don't know anything about them.

The asking price is around $1800 on this one. What do you think?

Rogers Gold Sparkle 20/12/16 kit with matching 5x14 Powertone snare drum. Dayton era, all stock. Kit is in very good condition. The only minus is the fade spot on the 16, it's visible in the pic. The 12 also has a few small spots of rash on the backside of the drum. Includes the tom holder, Swivo-Matic cymbal L-arm, floor tom legs, and spurs. Early Dayton kit, with flat gray interiors and bowtie T-rods.

Dayton drums are great drums some of the best Rogers made I would offer 1500 in this economy I would think that is fair.. nice set..

1500 is indeed a fair price. You would get your monies worth and they would be getting current worth. I agree with MikeT. GREAT drums.

My WMP Rogers is the same time period/sizes and it could not sound any better. You will be delighted with the sound of these drums. Price..

It seems high, but..it's still cheaper than a new American made set. The Rogers will sound better and if everything is on the up and up, will be able to sell it for the price you paid in the future. If you are going to play this kit, and I mean play it, not look at it, then, you will be really happy. If you are looking to turn around and sell it for a profit, you will be sad.

Nice kit in an not too common finish. Looks like there is not much fade. My favorite era is the Cleveland era, but that kit still has alot of the attributes such as flat grey interiors and Clev era T rods.

Perhaps the price is a bit high, not for me to say. The kit is appealing due to the inclusion of the matching snare, hardware, etc. If you like it, buy it. I wouldn't be too picky and loose the kit over a couple of hundred dollars due to the originality. I have certainly overpaid on items, but I liked them so what did it matter.

Thanks everyone. I will try and see if he will go down to 1500-1600. I still need to pay for shipping though. Ouch!!!!!

It would be nice to find a 14x14. Guess i'm dreaming though.

The 12, 16, 20 is perfect for most of the singer/songwriter/acoustic/lite pop stuff i do around town. My 20" ludwig kick just isn't cutting the mustard volume wise. I've heard the 20" Rogers sound HUGE!!
