Rogers Marching Snares.... Last viewed: 4 hours ago

RECENTLY, I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO MY SON-IN-LAWS

ROOM AT HIS SCHOOL TO SEE SOME OLD MARCHING SARES. IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY'RE WHITE MARINE PEARL SNARES WITH B & B LUGS, AND

THEY'RES THREE OF THEM!! HE TOLD ME THAT IN JANUARY, THERE'S GOING TO BE A SILENT AUCTION, SELLING SOME THE SCHOOL'S OLD INSTRUMENTS.

i FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE SNARE I SAW HAD A CLEVELAND TAG.

HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT I CAN GET THESE THREE SNARES ON THE CHEAP. I'M THINKING ABOUT TAKING ONE OF THESE AND MAKING A SMALLER HEIGHTH SNARE, OR POSSIBLY MAKING TWO SNARES. SOME OF

YOU MIGHT SHOOT THIS IDEA DOWN, BUT IF I CAN BUY ALL THREE OF THESE, IT WOULDN'T BOTHER ME TO DO THIS TO GET A GOOD-SOUNDING

SNARE THAT HAS A SEASONED SHELL. WHAT'S THE FEELING OUT THERE

ABOUT THIS?? I'D LIKE TO HEAR SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS. THANKS.

Go for it! What else are you going to do with a marching snare? 1. Start a marching band. 2. Join the Shrine and use it in their Oriental Band. 3. Strip it for parts. 4. Sit it on a shelf and look at it. 5. Cut it down and make a smaller snare. 6. Buy a new shell and transfer the parts to it. 7. Use it for a planter. Anybody else have any ideas?

Unless you're doing an 80's hair-band gig....then use it as your main snare... LoLoLoLo
