I cleaned a 50s A zildjian ride, it sounded nice and mellow but I thought cleaning might make an improvement in projection and just a little bit more...

That's great to see how it's done. Does anyone know if the old vintage solid shell drums were made exactly the same way? I.e. Slingerland and others?

I too would say definately a cut down, I own a couple and have researched radio king quite a lot, and am constantly looking at ones on eBay etc.

I didn't think a steel snare would sound so great. Very dynamic sounding with crisp clear cut and great tone as well, and oh yes,dam fine playing.
