Stunning set John and great restoration on that ft.I`ve never personally seen this wrap before and rare indeed it is!Thanks for giving my eyes a true taste of very fine vintage and like a fine wine...just keeps getting better! If that ft was a rewrap the match is perfect. On the other hand... if you repaired it please tell me how you worked your magic.

Wayne - it's not a rewrap. I'm sorry we lost the original thread. It was one I started at the 'new forum' which got lost when we went back to the 'old forum' format.

I used a black counter-top seam sealer! (Kampel Seam-Fil) I applied it with a putty knife. The second I wiped on the sealer, the splits disappeared right before my eyes. The splits blend with the surrounding so well that you have to look hard and be 'up-close and personal' to see it. I was so nervous about the repair because it's on such a rare drum, but it came out so well, it turns out I had nothing to be worried about. I can't see the repair when I'm looking straight at it.

Vinny - Thank you! Man, I was waiting for you to see them and how they came out. Remember how worried I was about fixing the floor tom? Turns out I had nothing to worry about. I have trouble finding the repair when I go to look for it and I'm sitting 12" away from it!

Mendozart - The kit came out really great (amazing snare drum!) and I'm having big fun playing it every day.

Thanks for checking them out. Not many of these buggers around.

John
