I guess at 35, I'm one of the babies in the group! I've been playing drums since the age of 17 and playing in bands non-stop since 18. My brother, who is 3 years younger than me, has been playing guitar with me for all of those years. I may not be the oldest one here, or even been playing vintage drums for the longest time, but I sure have some experience! I have a wife that supports me playing music, even if it means that I am gone some nights for rehearsals and one-off gigs, some weekends for out of town shows and sometimes weeks to tour across the world. I plan on drumming until I can no longer physically play.
Oh yeah...and just yesterday I played a gig at the Ventura Nationals Car Show in Ventura, CA and had the opportunity and pleasure to meet and talk vintage drums with fellow VDF member and drummer for Weird Al Yankovic, Mr. Bermuda Schwartz! I gotta say...he is a really cool dude and a great drummer. I also got to meet and chat very briefly with Mr. Marky Ramone, drummer for punk legends, The Ramones. That was pretty cool, too. There are also several of you fellas on this drum forum that have been cool and a wealth of knowledge! I'm glad to be part of this online community.
