Zoomatic Washer

I think it's been dealt with previously but I can't find the thread. The rubbery / neophrene looking washer that sits directly behind the adjustment knob, is there a fix for replacing a split one. Preferably without pulling the whole assembly apart.. looks like its just a spacer of sorts?? ..anyone..

LongJohn, No way on fixing the one you have.You could go to any hardwear store and look at the rubber washer's you will fine one that will work...Oh under the washer on the knob their is a loc metal washer looks like a half-moon in shape all you have to do is remove it and unscrew the knob and replace the rubber one....Mikey

Hey John,

If you're to take her apart through the "Zoomy Fix" spring in there while your at it. It will help with the tension issues in the Zoomy. It'll squeak a little when adjusting but will really help with any shell bending issues.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW-1/2"x3/4" does the trick quite nicely. Go to the "Restoration and Help" section above for complete fix guide.

Ok Thanks Dan,

I just had a read,, I should have an old turntable suspension spring that I can cut to suit by the looks of things. I just had another look at the drum..

When I loosen off the tension, the (Threaded Tube) that the adjustment bolt passes thru into the shell appears to be a bit loose Eg;(wobbly) on the shell as well. The hex nut must need tightening.?

Should there be some degree of "floatation" of this tube when I reassemble ?

All done..

Modified a tap washer (blue) matches the kit..

Did the spring fix as well, old Dual turntable spring cut back, all back together and working well..

Worked out the threaded piece was loose.. much better now all nice & tight..
