I have a 19" ride zilco cymbal with the stamp of Constantinople. I'm assuming this is from the 40s or 50s.
Does anybody have any info. Thanks

Yes, you can go here for a little info on the "New"
sample cymbal web site. Once on the site
click the Zilco link and you will see one flyer I added
to the site.
Hope that starts the search

Cool - Just saw this thread. I have a 13" Zilco (half of a Hi Hat pair possibly?) and I checked out the link David provided. My cymbals logo is different from the one pictured here.
Mine is fatter and all capitols like this ZILCO
Also, there is no "Trademark" below the name, just the word CONSTANTINOPLE, again in all caps. Unfortunately, the funky character/sword thingy above the Zilco name is almost gone.
David, would you like a picture of the logo to add to the website?
Yep, that would be great, but I would need three things if possible.
This would be great if anyone else could help also.
1. The stamp
2. A picture of the entire cymbal from the top
3. The cymbals weight
It makes it better for me so I can really document the cymbal
If that is to much then no worries!
Thanks for the offer.

Hi David - When you say "Weight", do you mean the actual weight of the cymbal or thin, medium heavy??
Thanks - I think I have access to a FedEx (or similar) scale - Would that do?
Yep, the weight in grams or lbs.
Yes, you can also make a general statement as to whether you think it is thin or medium, but the physical weight is important.

hey, really glad i found this site
a few years back i bought a kit with an old ride cymbal with it, its a Zilco 20" ride. i guess its a ride, but it sounds much better as a crash. as a ride its got a really trashy, dark sound. i dont know its weight, but its definately 20 inch, and the engraving on it is the sword and below that it says "ZILCO" then below that "BY AZCO" then below that "CANADA". i had a look on wikipedia and found it must have been made from 1968-70. i had guessed it was a 70s ride. if i remember i'll post some photos of it.
