Your Birthday Date Stamped

Hi, just wondering if there is anyone out there who owns a drum or drums that are date stamped on the same day that you were born. Perhaps not the same year, but even to have one that was stamped with the day you were born would be pretty neat. I have a Transition badge Ludwig snare that's just one day off my birthday. The year is 59. I'm exactly 21 years one day older than the drum. I don't know if this is the sort of thing that interests others out there, but thought it might be a good one to talk about. I think having your birthday stamped on the inside of a drum would make it very difficult to sell it. You'd have to keep it. :)

I had a Ludwig transition badge kit with a kick that had the day and month right, but the year was off by 10 years. My B-day is Jan. 24, 1949, the drum was stamped; Jan. 24, 1959. That's about as close as I ever came.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Very cool John. I would have kept that. Did you buy it specifically because it had your birthday stamped inside or did you find that out later?

Have a blue sparkle classic kit with the 13 stamped July 9, 1965 (day I was born). The bass is stamped July 8 and the floor July 7. I was fortunate to find a 14x14 that is stamped 2 weeks past my born date, and a jazz fest that is a week earlier. Cool kit all set up. As stated in a previous thread...she is for sale. 3 million ought to cover it.

I've recently become interested in having a drum...preferably a snare...with my birth month and year.

If anyone has one dated July [1], 1964 I'm all ears. :)

I saw a Black lacquer Jazz festival that was my exact birthday of Dec. 11 1964. Wasn't able to get it though. I recently bought a 12" Clubdate Bronze Mist tom that is Dec. 11 1965.

June 1 1968 was a Saturday so not sure if the Ludwig factory was open that day. I will always keep looking.

However, I have come quite close with a real nice 6.5x14 SS dated May 28th 1968 & a also really nice 5x14 Supra dated Jun 7th 1968.
