Yamaha Recording Custom RA/RP?

Loading...

Hey forum, just wanting to get some information from those more knowledgeable than me! So basically, I have a Yamaha Recording Custom kit that I would like to sell, but I don't know enough about them to properly list them.

(NO offers on this thread please, I'll eventually do that in the appropriate place after I know more.)

sizes-

22x16 RP

13x9 RA

14x10 RA

16x16 RA

I also have a 10" and 12" tom but I am setting those aside as they have the rare rounded and lacquered bearing edges. The 22", 13", 14" and 16" do not.

My main concerns are, why do my 10" and 12", which are also RA, have the colored edges and the rest do not. And what is RP? I thought "Power" but it's a standard size as far as I know. So what's the difference? All these drums are from the same era. The 10" and 12" too. They were all bought new for a Studio, a friend of mine bought them from them, and I traded him. Oh! And also, the 16" has a mount in it that looks original, that allows it to be mounted. Is that good? Normal? Original?

And I guess my last question would be, what's it worth?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

22X14 would be an RA bass drum.

Painted or clear bearing edges sort of loosely follow pink or good badges.

There was also the RF series "force" what I call "square" toms with depth very close to diameter.

I'd be interested in any 900 series red lab stands you may have-mainly cymbal stands and boom arms.

Cobalt Blue Yamaha Recording Custom 20b-22b-8-10-12-13-15-16f-18f
Red Ripple '70's Yamaha D-20 20b-12-14f
Piano Black Yamaha Recording Custom Be-Bop kit 18b-10-14f
Snares:
Yamaha COS SDM5; Yamaha Cobalt Blue RC 5-1/2x14; Gretsch round badge WMP; 1972 Ludwig Acrolite; 1978 Ludwig Super Sensitive; Cobalt Blue one-off Montineri; Yamaha Musashi 6.5X13 Oak; cheap 3.5X13 brass piccolo

Thanks for the info!

I unfortunately don't have any anymore. I had a stand and an additional boom arm that were red label but I gave them to the guy I traded for this kit.
