Yamaha identification? Last viewed: 21 hours ago

Hi Guys

Recently bought a 6 piece kit wth a pearl rack for $40 australian. Ridiculously cheap. The owners kept it in the garage and hadn't shown it much love. Upon inspection i noticed some Yamaha clip mount tom brackets on the concert toms but unfortunately these are the only badges or serial numbers on the entire kit.

It's made up of 8x5 & 10x6 concert toms, 12 & 13' toms, a 16" floor tom, and a 22" bass drum.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify the series from the photo's?

The wrap finish is quite interesting and has a great effect when put in direct light. Has anyone seen this finish before?

I've narrowed the drum kit lug configuration down to possibly a 1986 Yamaha Tour Custom, but my Concert toms have "Stage" series style lugs so i'm a bit confused and considering the possibility that the whole thing has been re-wrapped to match each other and the yamaha clip mounts added later ..onto a no name brand kit

Thanks in advance

It's a (interesting) re-wrap.

Concert toms do appear to be Yamaha. They should have the interior wood seam at an angle, not perpendicular to the top. But the other drums appear to be Pearl, possibly stencil, based on the lug style. What's under the wrap on the concert and regular toms?
