From Fayray

However, if you strip down the shells and polish the wrap with Novus 2 plastic polish, polish the lugs and rims with a good metal polish and throw on some nice new heads and it will look and sound sensational.

Great advice! Novus is available on Amazon or ebay.....I had trouble finding it in local stores.

It comes as a set, with Novus #1, #2 and #3. #1 is a spray, for everday cleaning and protecting of the wrap. #2 is a fine scratch remover, and #3 is a heavy scratch remover.

I DO NOT recommend using the Novus #3. Others will back me up on this, it is a very thick paste (almost like toothpaste) that is hard to get off completely, and actually left MORE scratches in my wrap than before I started (albeit small). Using #2 and then #1 should do you fine.

I just wanted to give you a heads up, because I found out the hard way. It's barely noticeable, but I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to you.

NEVR-DULL works great on chrome. You can find it at any auto parts store.

Good luck and have fun!

GREAT Kit!

I use Brasso on the chrome myself. It works great!

I use a terry towel, wet a corner with glass cleaner and then add a drop of the Brasso.

Anything that does not come off- does not come off. No scratching either.

I was doing the windex first and then the Brasso, but found this 'one step' method works as well, if not better, and is faster.

Make sure to track your restoration progress via pictures!

Can't wait to see the finished resto Zak. It's really satisfying work as the wrap usually comes up better than you think and with a little time and effort you'll have a cool looking and sounding vintage kit that looks like new.

Good info vyacheslav, I've not used Novus 1 or 3. I just use No.2 and finish with an automotive wax. Mcguires PlasticX is supposed to work well too if you can't get hold of Novus.

Good tip on the Brasso J!m, I use Autosol myself but it sounds like the Brasso and windex is worth a crack, too.
