Can anyone tell me anything about the quality of the Yamaha D-18 drums.
They are late 60's- early 70's I believe.

D-18 is the model. (like the 9000).
There is a picture of the kit in an old Catalogue on this site, but it doesn't say anything about the kit.
I was just wondering if they were a pro model, or beginners kit of their time.
They are circa 1969 according to the Yamaha catalogue.

Im going to say they are like mine,a 5 ply birch shell,no re rings.I believe these drums are becoming very much sought after...high end for thier day!
