Man, that sucks. I feel for you. I can't imagine an opportunity to play with Liberty. I admire him not just for his technical skills, but more for his imagination. I attended one of his clinics where he discussed his process on choosing exactly what to play to properly fit each of B.J.'s songs.

So what was the show? What were you playing if Liberty was on set?

Bummer sorry to hear.......I missed him a few years ago at the drum show here. Not long ago I used to be able to get on his website. He reviewed all the BJ tunes and how and what he played on each. Excellent tips, detail and sound clips for all. Not sure what happend to it? He has always been a fav of mine.

Yes what was the show/gigs all about there? Any chance of new dates?

Glenn.

Small tour with "Fitz and Them". FOH gig for me, not on stage. They are friends of mine and Liberty did the drum tracks for their new album.

That is a drag. I always enjoyed watching him play. A few years ago I was the lighting designer for an event in Orlando and Liberty was one of the house drummers. He was a very nice guy, professional, and I thought he did a great job of being open to suggestions while still maintaining control of the rehearsal and moving things forward to stay on schedule. Interestingly enough, he did not play nearly as hard in this situation which speaks a lot about his musicianship. I was looking forward to the hard hitting Liberty, but it would not have been appropriate in that setting and he obviously was aware of that.
